Cabo Verde
Cabo Verde is a group of 10 islands closely gathered off the west coast of the African continent. They were colonized by the Portuguese and used as a strategical port during the Atlantic Slave Trade. It took until 1975 for these islands to gain the statue of independence.
Cabo Verde Archipelago
Because of it’s geographical position, Cabo Verde is a popular stopover for transatlantic sailings. Mindelo, although not the largest city, is the main port to the archipelago, and the cultural center of the islands. From there, one can ferry over to more remote islands such as Santo Antâo, to plunge in the depth of a reality where time seems to have a dimension of its own.
